How Blended Learning Works
The traditional school model is defined by the classroom experience. At Nexus Academy, we’ve found that an innovative blended learning model helps learners progress at the pace that works for them, and which focuses on their retention, mastery, and success.
Blended learning combines the best parts of classroom and online education. Our learners attend some courses in person with other learners, and take other classes online. The small in-person class sizes allow our teachers to provide personal attention and support, and online classes allow learners to master the material at a pace that’s best for them. This all comes together in an inviting, open-concept learning environment that promotes positive interaction with peers and bringing out the best in learners.
At Nexus Academy, there’s no sitting in desk rows waiting for the bell, no cliques or bullies, no long days – instead, learners discover a productive, blended environment where they reach their highest potential. Four-hour on-campus sessions allow them to make the most of their time at school and the rest of the day. In all, blended learning is making education personalized, flexible and rewarding.
Blended Learning vs. Online School
While virtual classrooms can offer a huge selection of course levels and subjects, some learners want or need the added socialization and in-person teacher attention that a brick-and-mortar high school can provide.
At Nexus Academy, learners get the benefits of online school: a wide variety of courses, the flexibility of studying anywhere and anytime, and the ability to work at a pace that’s best for their education. But they also get an exclusive on-site learning community that lets them collaborate with other students while working closely with their teachers, counselors, and Success Coaches. Our campus experience is built on providing learners a safe, supportive place to thrive.
